Governor - Helen Hilton
I have been teaching in Lincolnshire for 24 years, having completed my training in Lincoln at Bishop Grosseteste College. My teaching posts have taken me across the county, from class teacher in Boston, to key stage leader in Lincoln and then deputy head teacher in Crowland. Across these diverse schools I enjoyed teaching classes from Reception to Year 4. I moved to Little Gonerby in September 2008 as deputy head teacher, becoming substantive head in April 2009. Being head teacher of an infant school and a church school is my dream job! I am passionate about the importance of early years and Key Stage 1 education; it is such a privilege to help children build solid foundations for learning and life and I am constantly inspired by their excitement for learning. I believe that the Christian values which underpin everything we do at Little Gonerby help to maintain and enrich the caring, nurturing ethos which makes the school such a special place to work and learn. Our school is going from strength to strength – converting to an academy in 2012 and now embracing exciting opportunities to collaborate with other schools, both in and out of county, to develop our creative curriculum and as a lead school for school-centred teacher training. The best things about my job are... getting to meet a wide range of people, working with such a fantastic, dedicated team of staff and governors, and most of all the children, who make me smile every day!
