Church School Inspection Report

Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS)

At Little Gonerby Church of England Primary Academy, we are proud of our Church school foundation, and part of that includes being inspected under the SIAMS framework.

SIAMS stands for the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools. It is a national inspection process that looks at how effectively Church schools like ours live out their Christian vision to help pupils and adults flourish.

SIAMS inspections explore how our Christian vision shapes all aspects of school life — not just in Religious Education or Collective Worship, but in how we care for one another, how we celebrate diversity, and how we nurture every child to reach their full potential. The inspection focuses on the question:

"How effective is the school’s Christian vision in enabling pupils and adults to flourish?"

During a SIAMS inspection, inspectors consider:

IQ1: How does the school’s theologically rooted Christian vision enable pupils and adults to flourish?

IQ2: How does the curriculum reflect the school’s theologically rooted Christian vision?

IQ3: How is collective worship enabling pupils and adults to flourish spiritually?

IQ4: How does the school’s theologically rooted Christian vision create a culture in which pupils and adults are treated well?

IQ5: How does the school’s theologically rooted Christian vision create an active culture of justice and responsibility?

IQ6: Is the religious education curriculum effective (with reference to the expectations set out in the Church of England’s Statement of Entitlement for Religious Education)?

IQ7: What is the quality of religious education in voluntary aided and former voluntary aided schools?

Inspectors make one of two judgements:

a) The inspection findings indicate that the school is living up to its foundation as a Church school, and is enabling pupils and adults to flourish.

Or

b) The inspection findings indicate that the school has strengths, but that there are also issues that leaders need to address as a matter of priority.

Little Gonerby was last inspected under the SIAMS framework in 2019. The inspection recognised the strength of our Christian vision and the positive impact it has on our whole school community. It highlighted our nurturing environment, the inclusive and respectful relationships we build, and the way our values are reflected in everyday school life.
