In Term One we started our new school year by looking at the story 'The Huge Bag of Worries.' We talked about our own worries and created a worry monster to represent them. We spent a lot of time working together collaboratively to create a bag for our worries to go in and talked about ways to tackle our worries.
We then started our new project and looked at the question 'How can we bring fairy tales back to life?'
The children were excited to learn about old and new fairy tales and we spent the rest of term one looking at Jack and the Beanstalk and Cinderella. We had a beanstalk growing in our classroom and had to design some new glasses for Jim's friend the Giant.
We then received a letter from Cinderella who had lost her glass slipper! We made posters and used synonyms to make sure everyone knew exactly what the slipper looked like. As we helped Cinderella find her glass slipper, she invited us to a ball! She was the guest of honour and we enjoyed showing her the dances we had learnt especially for the ball!
