Morrison's Big Dig

Morrison's Big Dig - Wednesday 8th May

We had a great afternoon with parents and Grandparents helping the children to get planting in the garden. We were very pleased to see several Dads and Grandads this year and this meant that we could move the shed from one side of the playground to the other!

We also built a fruit cage from canes and nets, assembled the mini- greenhouse and strawberry planter (courtesy of the Morrisons voucher scheme), weeded raised beds, tyre planters and garden spaces and then everyone got a turn to plant vegetables, strawberries or herbs!

Thank you to everyone who came to help - the children enjoyed helping out with their families and we got lots of jobs done that would have otherwise taken us weeks! The children should now be able to keep on top of things and hopefully Garden Club can carry on the good work.

We are planning to take part in the Morrison's Big Lunch in July when we hope to be able to eat some of the produce we have grown.

Have a look at some of the photos taken during the afternoon under the gardening section of the school website!!!
